I do not have any expectation for this event.
In fact, on Sat morning, I still went dive shopping with Sam & Lilian. Enjoyed our Jap lunch.
Due to some taxing arrangement with Alvin & Johny. Ended up, have Sam & Lilian to send me to PD.
Even when I reach PD, I can’t really feel the excitement of the event. I’m just as calm as a millpond.
This is my 1st Tri. I cannot visualize how it’s the feeling to swim in the sea. Or I not dare to imagine it.
At last, the day comes.
The 1st course is swimming. This is the part I scare most.
I got really panicked & nervous once I jumped to the sea.
Somehow I forgot how to swim! My breathing & swim was just not synchronized.
I totally cannot swim. I hold to the buoyant for more than 15mins! Even until the Relay team swim passed me. I’m still holding the ball.
Luckily, there is a hero, I called him Mr.2024. Approached me & gave me encouragement.
He asked me to swim together with him, breaststroke.
I started to swim slowly, with him. And I started to feel comfortable & gain confidence.
But it is too late for me to catch up. I was among the last 3 to complete the swimming course.
By the time I reach the bike transistion, it’s only 2/3 bikes left.
Kinda embarrassing. Must catch up in cycling.
I pushed hard & managed to cut bout 10women riders, including Chin Yin
Whoo Hoo…..
I must had pushed myself too hard on cycling.
Both my thigh muscles cramped. Luckily I brought along counterpain (which now I will bring along in all events)
I keep applying counterpain while running. I walked few times.
Finally, I reached the finishing line!
Everyone were there, Eric, Johny, KengLu, Alvin.
It’s a blissful ending.
Apart from not very satisfied with the swimming result, which I think I could have done much more better than this.
I actually did not suffer much in this event. The distance is just nice, 1.5km swim, 40km bike & 10km run.
Next year, I will definitely make a come back for better timing!
Congratulation to all the completed this event: Eric, Kenglu, Chin Yin, Johny & Alvin with flying colors.
